Operation: Rewrite

Welcome to my Despicable Me rewrite hub! This is a personal project that consists of me throwing around ideas about these movies and how I'd write them. It's not perfect by any means; a lot of these are tropes and story ideas that appeal to me, personally. I just think there's a lot of gems and hidden opportunities within the movies that the stories never really touch upon. I kinda wanna take a stab at bringing them out more. I'm also using roman numerals for the numbering for a reason: I switched DM3 and DM4 chronologically. DM4 is DM III, and DM3 is DM IV.

Each movie will have its own section where I talk about the plot and show some of my arts that relate to that movie. There's more bullet point pitches, strange opinionated rambles, and concepts than formal story fics here...but fics aren't off the table.

I recommend checking out the cast section first, because I've added a couple of headcanons for the silly little guys that may or may not be explained in the other sections.

This rewrite/AU has a sister AU, Wildefire. There's a few headcanons that they share, but the stories take a pretty different turn.

Anyways, I wanted to say my thanks for your interest in my silly AU stuff! It means a whole lot that you're checking around. And yes, before you say "Despicable Me?? Really???" Just know that I've made my peace way before I decided I'd make a site section for this. This is serious sincere business. You think I'd waste my time on this if I was being ironic about it?
